Through the Woods in Irish Tweed....

It was one of those days...when you walk in silence so that you can admire the beauty around you.
We ventured through the woods, down the lane, over the pass, across the fields and past Polesden Lacey. This National Trust property is a 30 minute drive from our house and a beauty in all seasons.
The picture below is of me... if you pass me in the woods in winter, you will most likely find me in my favourite Irish Donegal tweed hat and scarf. One woman, one dog, one camera...walking in the woods, trailing behind her family..taking pictures along the way. Crazy lady is more like it. There are very few photos of me as I seem to always be the one taking them...except for today. :)

  1. Jeanne,

You look marvelous! I love your walking kit! I look the same while out walking my pup, no hat, but a plaid cashmere scarf, Barbour coat and wellies. Although I have great views while walking they are not like this! I love these photos.

I love to walk alone and take in the sites and sounds, of the trees, the wind, the birds,a few squirls here and there bothered that I have come upon them.

I hope that you are having a wonderful holiday and that you get to enjoy many more outings like this with your children and dog!

    Have a great day! Elizabeth

  3. What a joy to walk in a beautiful countryside. Perhaps I should take some photos of the Vitorian homes I pass by during my walk to our library.

  5. That's a fabulous photo of you.

Like you, I rarely turn up on the lens-side of the camera. Having a photographer's eye makes one very critical of others' photos of oneself! The curse of the gift!
I walked with my girls on Boxing Day...and Miss Daisy of course. A cold, windy day here, and I chose to forgo the camera so that we three could just talk, so rare is the opportunity for the three of us to be together. (Photos taken with the camera in my head instead.)
